Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif began his speech at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) by reciting verses from the Holy Quran. He also congratulated the President of the General Assembly on his election.

During his address, Prime Minister Sharif expressed his honor in speaking to the General Assembly for the second time as Prime Minister. Sharif emphasized that it was agreed that Kashmiris would be given the right to self-determination and called for this right to be granted. He condemned the ongoing human rights violations by India in occupied Kashmir, noting that despite Indian oppression, Kashmiris continue to uphold the ideology of Burhan Wani.

The Prime Minister stated that India is settling non-local people in Kashmir and warned that India’s aggressive actions threaten regional peace. He asserted that Pakistan will give a strong response to any Indian aggression.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the challenges facing the world today, particularly highlighting the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza. He strongly condemned the violence in Gaza.

Sharif stated that the tragic events in Gaza have shaken humanity. He emphasized that the killing of innocent children, women, and unarmed civilians cannot go unchallenged. He affirmed that the blood of innocent Palestinians will not be in vain and called on the international community to take action for lasting peace and a two-state solution.

The Prime Minister expressed that the hearts of the Pakistani people beat for the Palestinians. He demanded that Palestine be recognized as a permanent member of the United Nations and that a Palestinian state be established with Jerusalem as its capital.

Sharif also mentioned that the failure to implement UN resolutions has increased risks in the Middle East, allowing Israel to escalate its aggression. He reminded that the Kashmir issue remains on the Security Council’s agenda.
