Retail Payments in Pakistan See 35% Growth in FY 2023-24

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported significant progress in the national payment system during FY 2023-24. Retail payments saw a major boost, with transactions rising from 4.7 billion to 6.4 billion in volume and from Rs. 403 trillion to Rs. 547 trillion in value—showing around 35% growth. The share of digital payments increased from 76% in FY23 to 84% in FY24.
