Ten Police Officers Suspended for Violence Against Women and Journalists at Karachi Press Club

Karachi: Ten police officers involved in the violent incidents against women, journalists, and others at the Press Club have been suspended. The DIG South has directed these officers to report to headquarters.

The SSP City has been instructed to carry out departmental action to ensure appropriate punishment for the officers. DIG Asad Raza stated that the suspended officers were identified with the help of CCTV footage.

The identification process for other officers involved in the violence is ongoing, according to the DIG South. Additionally, disciplinary action has been recommended against two senior police officers assigned to the Press Club for security.

DIG South emphasized that violence against journalists, women, and children will not be tolerated.
