Hafiz Naeem emphasized that mere announcements will not resolve the crisis. He pointed out that while the government can terminate contracts with 52 Independent Power Producers (IPPs), the ruling elite are involved in these contracts themselves.

The JI chief said that the upcoming protests could include an indefinite strike, a long march, and even a refusal to pay electricity bills.

All options will be considered before deciding on the final course of action. He added that a countrywide strike and non-payment of electricity bills are possible strategies.

Hafiz Naeem criticized the ongoing electricity crisis in Pakistan, stating that despite better weather conditions, citizens are receiving hefty electricity bills. Compared to the same month last year, the bills have doubled, offering no relief to the salaried class.

Jamaat-e-Islami demands that taxes be imposed on feudal lords. He also called for a forensic audit of K-Electric, labeling it as a mafia. He pointed out that the global price of oil has dropped to $70 per barrel, and in Pakistan, petrol should be priced at Rs 150. If JI had not protested, petrol prices would have been even higher.
