FIA Detains Family Traveling to Saudi Arabia for Begging from Faisalabad Airport

On Friday, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a family at Faisalabad airport while they were traveling to Saudi Arabia for begging.

The FIA spokesperson said that the same family had been stopped at Lahore Airport last month. The family members, Munawar Hussain, Shafia Bibi, and their young daughter, had traveled to Iraq, Iran, and Saudi Arabia before for the purpose of begging.

The FIA noted that the family could not explain how they were paying for these trips and had no proper income sources. They also did not file taxes or have return tickets and hotel bookings.

The family has now been handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Faisalabad for further investigation.

Last month, FIA arrested 11 people, including 8 women, at Karachi Airport for begging while pretending to go for Umrah. Their return tickets and hotel bookings were also fake.
