In an interview with a Pakistani YouTuber, renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik discussed significant events in his life following his departure from India. When asked why he chose to move to Malaysia instead of Pakistan, Dr. Naik explained that traveling to Pakistan would have been easier for him, as he has visited before and has many supporters there.
Dr. Naik elaborated on a principle of Sharia, stating that one may tolerate a smaller loss to avoid a greater one. He expressed concerns that if he traveled to Pakistan, India might label him as an agent of the ISI, leading to false propaganda and potentially shutting down his institution, which would adversely affect his efforts in promoting the faith.
While he does not plan to make a permanent move, Dr. Naik expressed a desire to visit Pakistan. He mentioned that if it weren’t for the COVID-19 pandemic, he might have visited in 2020, but he is now hopeful to travel to Pakistan soon.
