Pakistan Faces Historic Defeat Against Bangladesh in Test Series, Shan Masood Acknowledges Team’s Shortcomings
Bangladesh has delivered a historic defeat to Pakistan in the Test series, completing a whitewash after winning the second Test match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. This marks the second time in history that Pakistan has been whitewashed on home soil by an opposing team.
Pakistan cricket team captain, Shan Masood, expressed his disappointment, stating, “We have not learned from our mistakes.” Speaking after the match, Masood mentioned that the team was excited for the home series, but the result mirrored that of the series against Australia.
Masood further acknowledged that this was the fourth time under his captaincy that Pakistan held the upper hand yet lost the match. He emphasized the need for Pakistan to improve its performance under pressure, particularly in the second innings.
He also pointed out the recurring issue of losing wickets in quick succession, which the team must address.
“I accepted the captaincy knowing the challenges, and I will give my 100% for as long as I have this role,”
Adding that the team missed out on winning the Melbourne Test, which had been within their grasp.
