Indian media has claimed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has agreed to the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) proposal regarding the ICC Champions Trophy, finalizing arrangements for the tournament.
According to Indian reports, the Champions Trophy 2025, hosted by Pakistan, will be played under a hybrid model. India is expected to play its matches in Dubai, while other teams will play in Pakistan.
The reports further state that Pakistan and India will not play any matches in each other’s countries for the next three years. Until 2027, Pakistan will also refrain from playing ICC event matches hosted in India.
Regarding the T20 World Cup 2026, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, Pakistan will reportedly play its matches at a neutral venue.
Indian media indicated that the formal agreements for the Champions Trophy 2025 are likely to be finalized within the next 24 to 48 hours, following India’s consent to the hybrid model.
Previously, the PCB had proposed a partnership formula to resolve the Champions Trophy hosting issue, emphasizing that neither Pakistan nor India would play in each other’s countries. The formula suggested that India play in Dubai during Pakistan-hosted events, while Pakistan would also play its ICC matches in Dubai for the next three years.
