The Supreme Court has issued a written order from the October 9 hearing of the Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dams Fund case, directing that the funds be transferred to the Federal Public Account. The court instructed that once the funds are transferred, the Supreme Court and Prime Minister’s Diamer Bhasha Dam Fund Account will be closed.
The written order also noted that the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) had reported an estimated cost of PKR 740 billion for the Diamer Bhasha Dam, while the Supreme Court’s Dam Fund currently holds over PKR 23.67 billion.
