32

The Sindh High Court has issued notices to the Mayor of Karachi and other parties in response to a petition challenging the inclusion of a municipal tax in K-Electric bills. The court has requested responses from the parties by August 27. The petition, filed by the opposition leader in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Saifuddin Advocate, argues that the Mayor implemented the tax without consulting the opposition and calls for the tax to be declared illegal.
