Maryam Proposes Buying PIA to Launch ‘Air Punjab’ as New Airline, Says Nawaz Sharif

During a conversation in New York, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif shared that Maryam Nawaz suggested buying Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and establishing a new airline brand named “Air Punjab.” According to media reports, Nawaz said Maryam proposed bringing in new aircraft to create a fresh, modern airline for Pakistan.

He further mentioned that he encouraged Maryam to consider launching a new airline that could operate direct flights from Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta to New York, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and other global destinations. Nawaz Sharif added that discussions about the airline are ongoing.
