The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to increase the salaries and benefits of ministers and advisors. An amendment bill related to ministers’ salaries and perks was presented in the provincial assembly.

According to the bill, ministers will receive a one-time amount of 10 lac rupees for the renovation of their official residences. This will cover expenses for items such as carpets, curtains, air conditioners, and refrigerators.

In case an official residence is not available, a rent allowance of 2 lac rupees will be provided. Ministers will also be entitled to spend 10 lac rupees on the renovation of a rented house.

If a minister opts to use their own private house, they will be eligible to receive a rent allowance of 2 lac rupees per month.

The bill also stipulates that once the official or rented residence is vacated, all renovation items must be returned to the government.
