Key Details Emerge in Karachi Attack Investigation

New details have surfaced in the investigation of the attack on a convoy of foreign nationals near Karachi Airport on Sunday night.

According to investigative sources, it has been revealed that a small car was used in the attack. Efforts are currently underway to trace the vehicle’s license plate, engine number, and chassis number.

Sources reported that the suicide attacker was waiting for the convoy to pass. Once the convoy approached, the attacker rammed the car into the foreign nationals’ vehicle. The car was possibly loaded with explosives, which caused a massive blast that completely destroyed the vehicle.

Investigators also stated that one of the foreign vehicles attempted to reverse and escape, but the high quantity of explosives caused significant damage to multiple vehicles.

Further details on the damaged vehicles are being collected.

Victims Identified

Jinnah Hospital authorities confirmed that two foreign nationals and one local citizen were brought in after the blast. While the two foreigners have been identified, the identity of the local victim remains unknown.

Special Investigation Team Formed

In response to the attack, a special investigation team has been set up. The team will include bomb disposal experts and personnel from the South and West zones, as per the orders of the Inspector General of Sindh Police.

It is important to note that the explosion near the Karachi Airport signal killed three foreigners, including two Chinese nationals, and injured 17 others.
