The Mayor of Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, has approved a 23% increase in water and sewerage bills following a board meeting.

According to sources, the hike includes a 14% increase in sewerage bills and a 9% increase in water rates. This comes after the Mayor had already introduced a municipal tax within electricity bills.

Despite the additional taxes, the city continues to face numerous municipal challenges.
