Karachi to Get Affordable Solar Power as KAPCO Proposes Rs. 9.8/Unit Rate

According to a statement, KAPCO has offered to provide electricity to K-Electric at Rs. 9.8 per unit, based on a dollar rate of Rs. 288.65. The solar project will produce power at 3.4 cents per kilowatt.
The project is set to be established in South District Karachi. Work will begin after final approval from NEPRA.
Meanwhile, K-Electric is working on 640 MW renewable and eco-friendly power projects. A public hearing by NEPRA on K-Electric’s alternative energy projects, scheduled for today, has been postponed due to the current situation in Islamabad.
