Karachi Road Repairs: Rs. 1.5 Billion Approved for 17.8 Million Sq Ft of Patching Work on Mayor’s Recommendation

In a meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, it was revealed that road repairs are needed for 17,861,500 square feet of road area across seven districts in Karachi Division due to recent rains. The estimated cost for these repairs and construction is 1.5 billion rupees, as stated by Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab.
The Sindh Chief Minister has approved the allocation of 1.5 billion rupees for the repair and construction of Karachi’s roads. Immediate work is to be initiated by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to improve the city, according to CM Shah.
KMC has already issued tenders, and work is expected to commence soon, said the Mayor of Karachi. Additionally, the Chief Minister has directed KMC to ensure that all roads under repair also have proper drainage systems and service lines.
