Advisor to the Government, Barrister Saif, has announced a new life insurance scheme for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, extending social welfare support following the province’s Universal Health Coverage. This program aims to provide financial stability, especially for low-income and vulnerable communities.
Under this new insurance plan, the family of a deceased individual over the age of 60 will receive financial assistance of up to 5 lac rupees, while families of individuals under 60 will be eligible for support up to 10 lac rupees.
Barrister Saif further highlighted that 49% of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s population lives below the poverty line. He noted that a death in a household not only causes personal loss but also places the entire family under financial strain. This scheme seeks to alleviate that burden and support those in need during difficult times.
