Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, announced that if Imran Khan is not legally released within one to two weeks, they will free him by force. Speaking at a public rally in Islamabad, Gandapur said,
“I will lead, and I will take the first bullet.”
He added that their next rally would be in Lahore and warned CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz,
“We are coming, whether we get the NOC or not. Don’t provoke us, or you’ll forget Bangladesh.”
Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, also attended the rally, while PTI leader Hammad Azhar made a public appearance and delivered a speech. Several other PTI leaders addressed the gathering.
Meanwhile, PML-N leader and advisor to the Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah, said that people from Islamabad were not stopped from attending the rally. He claimed that the public of Rawalpindi and Islamabad had rejected the rally, stating,
“Let those who speak of Lahore rallies try crossing Attock Bridge first.”
Khawaja Asif challenged, “Stick to your words and free your leader within 15 days.”
IG Islamabad announced action, stating that the rally’s permitted time was from 4 to 7 PM.
