CM Ali Amin Gandapur Arrested?

According to media reports, Ali Amin Gandapur, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has been arrested in Islamabad by the Inspector General himself. Both the police and Rangers have taken him into custody.

Gandapur faces charges of attacking the state, damaging public property, and misusing government resources. His brother, Faisal Amin Gandapur, confirmed the arrest.

The police and Rangers have also taken control of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad, where Ali Amin Gandapur was arrested.

Previously, there had been reports that Gandapur might be arrested in a case involving the recovery of weapons and alcohol. The court had issued non-bailable arrest warrants against him after his repeated absence from hearings.

The authorities, including Rangers and Frontier Corps (FC), raided the KP House and arrested Gandapur. He will be presented in court for the next hearing.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor Barrister Saif has stated that contact with the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is not being established, and Rangers have sealed the KP House in Islamabad.

According to Dawn News, the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, claimed that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has been illegally arrested. Meanwhile, state broadcaster PTV News reported that legal proceedings have been initiated against Ali Amin Gandapur.
