Beggar Family Prepares Feast for 12,000 Guests at Grandmother’s Memorial

Gujranwala: A beggar family hosted a grand event for their grandmother’s “chehlum” (40-day memorial), preparing food for over 12,000 people, according to the grandson.

The grandson shared that members of the Kangra community from all over Pakistan attended the ceremony, with participants traveling from Karachi, Peshawar, and even Swat.

The total budget for the event was reported to be Rs. 12.5 million.

A chef from Sialkot revealed that an order was placed for 60 maunds of mutton, along with 10 cauldrons of sweet rice and other delicacies like preserves and desserts.
