Health Advisory Issued in Sindh Amid Rising Congo Fever Cases

26

The Sindh Health Department has issued an advisory due to the increasing number of Congo fever cases. Hospitals across the province, including Karachi, have been instructed to exercise caution, with a special emphasis on isolating patients diagnosed with Congo fever.

Congo fever is caused by a virus found in ticks that reside on animals. Those who care for animals and butchers are advised to take precautionary measures.

This month alone, Karachi has reported five new cases, bringing the total number of cases to 14 this year. Sadly, three deaths have also been attributed to the virus.
