The dengue virus remains a significant concern in Rawalpindi, with 56 new cases confirmed recently. This year, a total of 501 dengue cases have been reported, with 100 individuals currently receiving treatment in various hospitals.
The latest reports indicate that 27 cases emerged from Pothohar Town, 9 from the Cantonment Board, and 6 from the Municipal Corporation. Additionally, 4 cases were reported from Chaklala Cantonment, while Kahuta and Kallar Syedan each reported 2 cases. Other areas, including Pothohar Rural and Gujar Khan, reported 2 cases each, and 1 case was confirmed in Taxila Cantonment.
In response to the outbreak, the district administration is actively enforcing dengue SOPs. This year, 2,770 cases have been registered, resulting in the sealing of 785 locations. Furthermore, 2,203 challan tickets have been issued, and a fine of PKR 14,994,000 has been imposed, according to the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi.
