Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan has clarified that the winning designs from the recent art competition are not shortlisted for the new banknote series. The bank started the design process for the new notes with an art competition in January, aimed at encouraging local artists and involving the public in the design process.
The State Bank stated that the winning designs, announced on September 5, 2024, were selected based on artistic quality and the theme of religious diversity, not as shortlisted designs for the new series.
The bank further explained that the final designs for the new series are being created by renowned international firms. These firms will submit their proposals by December 2024, and the approved designs will be presented to the Federal Government for final approval by January 2025.
