Monthly Inflation Rate Decreases in Pakistan

Pakistan’s monthly inflation rate decreased to 9.64% in August 2024, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). In July 2024, the inflation rate was recorded at 11.1%, while in August 2023, it was as high as 27.4%.
 
The PBS reported that inflation in August 2024 reached its lowest point in 34 months. Over the past two months, the average inflation rate stood at 10.36%, compared to 27.84% during the same period in 2023.
 
Inflation in urban areas was recorded at 11.7%, while in rural areas, it was 6.7%. The food inflation rate in urban areas was 4.1%, whereas in rural areas, it was 1.9%.
