Karachi Chamber Demands Extension in Tax Return Filing Deadline Due to Portal Issues

46
The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has called on the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to extend the deadline for filing tax returns, citing difficulties with the online submission portal.

KCCI President Iftikhar Ahmed Shaikh, in a statement, highlighted that the FBR’s online portal is currently not functioning properly, making it challenging for traders to file their returns as the September 30 deadline approaches.

Shaikh urged the FBR to grant a one-month extension, stressing that traders may not be able to meet the existing deadline due to technical issues with the system. He also emphasized the need to simplify the tax return filing process to facilitate ease of compliance.
