The Ministry of Finance has issued a report detailing Pakistan’s economic performance for the period from July to September. According to the report, federal expenditures during this period amounted to Rs 3,814 billion, with Rs 2,341 billion allocated to debt repayments and interest.
Defense spending reached Rs 410 billion, while Rs 142 billion was spent on subsidies, and Rs 222 billion was allocated to pensions. The federal government also transferred Rs 1,196 billion to the provinces. The budget deficit for the quarter stood at Rs 1,536 billion.
In terms of revenue, tax income amounted to Rs 2,562 billion, with Rs 1,230 billion from direct taxes, Rs 904 billion from sales tax, Rs 276 billion from customs duties, and Rs 151 billion from excise duties. Non-tax revenue reached Rs 3,021 billion, with Rs 2,500 billion generated from State Bank profits, Rs 261 billion from petroleum levies, and Rs 19.9 billion from passport fees.
