Pakistan Urges India Not to Politicize Sports Amid Champions Trophy Participation Concerns

The Foreign Office of Pakistan has addressed the matter of India potentially skipping the Champions Trophy, scheduled to be hosted in Pakistan next year.

Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, during a media briefing, emphasized that

“Pakistan’s stance is that sports should not be sacrificed to politics. We are committed to hosting the Champions Trophy next year.”

She further expressed optimism, stating, “We hope all teams will participate in the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan.”

The spokesperson also mentioned that Pakistan’s position on this matter has been clearly presented to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
