Karachi authorities have begun strict measures against individuals and businesses littering public areas, including streets and sidewalks.

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has issued notices to restaurants and businesses under the Sindh Local Government Act for dumping waste in public spaces.

According to the KMC spokesperson, violators face fines of up to Rs. 50,000 or imprisonment for up to three years for breaking these rules.

Mayor Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, stated that municipal inspectors would take action as per the law. He also disclosed that three hotels have already been served notices for littering on sidewalks and public areas, with a warning of legal action if the issue is not resolved within three days.
