Pakistan’s debt and liabilities have reached a historic high of Rs. 85,836 billion, marking an increase of Rs. 7,417 billion in just one year, according to the State Bank of Pakistan’s latest report.
As of September 2024, domestic debt stood at Rs. 47,536 billion, while external debt amounted to Rs. 33,722 billion. Additionally, liabilities totaled Rs. 4,484 billion at the end of the first quarter of the current fiscal year.
In comparison, the total debt and liabilities in September 2023 were Rs. 78,419 billion, showcasing a significant surge over the past year.
