62

In a written response presented in the Senate, the Interior Ministry revealed that nearly 1,500 WhatsApp accounts were hacked over the last four months, largely due to user unawareness. Since July 1, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has received 1,426 complaints related to hacked accounts, although unregistered complaints are not included in this figure. Out of the registered cases, 549 hacked accounts have been successfully restored.

The FIA’s cybercrime wing is actively processing 877 of these complaints, with 20 converted into full inquiries. For 40 pending complaints, records are still awaited, while 817 are currently in verification stages.
