A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight attendant, Faisal Majeed, has been implicated in a smuggling attempt involving mobile phones. Reports reveal that Majeed attempted to smuggle 16 mobile phones on a return flight from Canada to Islamabad.
PIA administration issued a show-cause notice to Majeed and launched an investigation into the matter. According to the notice, Majeed arrived on PIA flight PK-782 from Toronto to Islamabad on October 24. Upon arrival, customs officials at Islamabad Airport conducted a search, leading to the discovery of 16 mobile phones strapped to his body.
PIA management has ordered Majeed to respond to the show-cause notice within three days. If his explanation is deemed unsatisfactory, he may face dismissal. The PIA administration emphasized that such actions harm the national airline’s reputation.
