Raast Integration Enables Rupee Payments Between Pakistan and Arab Countries

27
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has connected its Raast payment system with the Arab Monetary Fund’s Buna platform, allowing rupee-based payments between Pakistan and Arab countries. This move aims to simplify cross-border transactions and boost trade. Additionally, the SBP is working on enabling direct payments to China via e-wallets and online banking. The bank has also launched a new National Financial Inclusion Strategy, targeting 75% banking access for adults by 2028, with a focus on increasing financial access for women.
