The Punjab Cabinet has approved a project for the marriages of 3,000 daughters from low-income families.
The 17th cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, granted approval for the initiative aimed at assisting the marriages of girls from 3,000 underprivileged families in the province.
Under this project, each bride will receive a cash gift of PKR 100,000 via an ATM card. Additionally, the brides will be gifted furniture, clothing, dinner sets, and 13 essential items for their new homes.
The cabinet also approved the allocation of 100,000 acres of land to landless farmers on a lease of three to five years.
Moreover, the cabinet approved the Punjab Electric Bus Service Scheme, with 27 electric buses set to be introduced in the first phase. By the end of the year, a total of 680 electric buses will be operational throughout Punjab.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also requested a plan for electric taxis in Lahore.
