Tropical Regions and Subtropical Regions

Tropical and subtropical regions are areas of the world that experience warm temperatures year-round. These regions are generally located between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, and just outside of these tropics, respectively. Here are some examples:

Tropical Regions

• Southeast Asia: Countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
• South Asia: Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Maldives.
• Central and South America: Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, and much of the Amazon rainforest.
• Africa: Countries close to the equator like Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
• Caribbean: Jamaica, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and other islands in the Caribbean Sea.
• Pacific Islands: Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and other islands in the Pacific Ocean.

Subtropical Regions

• Southern United States: Parts of Florida, Texas, and Louisiana.
• North Africa: Northern parts of countries like Morocco, Algeria, and Egypt.
• Mediterranean Basin: Southern Spain, Italy, Greece, and Turkey.
• China and Japan: Southern parts of these countries have subtropical climates.
• Australia: Northern parts like Queensland.

These regions typically have warm, humid climates, making them favorable environments for diseases spread by mosquitoes, like chikungunya, dengue, and malaria.

Pakistan

Pakistan is located in South Asia. It shares borders with several countries:

• India to the east
• Afghanistan and Iran to the west
• China to the north
• The Arabian Sea to the south

Geographically, Pakistan lies in the subtropical region, with a diverse landscape that includes mountains, deserts, and coastal areas. The country has both tropical and temperate climates depending on the region.
