India has decided to send its Foreign Minister, S. Jaishankar, to Pakistan for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation during his visit to Islamabad, marking the first visit by a high-ranking Indian official to Pakistan in nine years.
The Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson made this announcement during a weekly briefing to journalists, stating that Foreign Minister Jaishankar, along with a delegation, will attend the SCO summit in Pakistan.
The SCO summit will be held in Islamabad on October 15 and 16, 2024.
It is worth noting that last year, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari attended the SCO Foreign Ministers’ meeting in India.
