The federal government has closed 24 entry and exit points into the capital by placing containers. The police from both Rawalpindi and Islamabad have been given free rein to take necessary actions. On Thursday, arrests began, with 4,122 individuals, including 60 Afghan nationals, detained.
Additionally, a ban on pillion riding in Islamabad has been enforced for the next two days, effective from midnight Thursday. Strict legal action will be taken against motorcyclists violating this order.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has issued a stern warning regarding PTI’s protest, reminding that Section 144 is currently in place in Islamabad. He emphasized that those violating the law should not expect any leniency.
The Minister clarified that while everyone has the right to engage in politics, it should not be done in a disruptive manner. He added that given the presence of important dignitaries in the country, any form of protest would be inappropriate at this time.
