In a significant move, it has been decided to transfer the management of Islamabad’s government hospitals to the district administration. As per reports, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Federal General Hospital will now be under the control of Islamabad’s administration. Additionally, the National Rehabilitation Center for the Disabled and Polyclinic Hospital will also be handed over to the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration.

The District Health Office will be brought under the jurisdiction of Islamabad’s district administration, while the primary and rural health centers in Islamabad will also be transferred to the district’s control. The transfer of health centers from the Ministry of Health to ICT will be completed within a year.
