PTA to Block SIMs Issued on Deceased People’s ID Cards from October 15

78
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has decided to block all SIM cards issued on the ID cards of deceased individuals starting from October 15. In a statement, PTA advised those using SIMs registered under deceased persons’ CNICs to transfer them to their own names immediately.
The statement further explained that after the deadline, any SIMs still registered under the ID cards of deceased individuals will be blocked. To transfer these SIMs, users must visit a nearby franchise with the original death certificate of their deceased relative and proof of their relationship. After verification, the franchise will transfer the SIM to the relative’s name.
