Peshawar: The evacuation of illegal Afghan residents from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continues as 434 more Afghans returned to their homeland yesterday, according to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Department. Out of these, 390 returned voluntarily, while 44 were deported.
So far, a total of 404,372 Afghan nationals have returned from Pakistan, the provincial Home Department reports. Most returned through the Torkham border (397,690), while others left through Angoor Adda (5,983), Kharlachi (698), and Sost Border (1). From the Peshawar transit point, 4,646 individuals were sent back, along with 1,059 from Landi Kotal, and 1 from Kohat jail.
Additionally, 194 illegal residents from Islamabad and 1,163 from Punjab have been sent back. Other deportations include 1 from Gilgit-Baltistan, 34 from Azad Kashmir, and 44 from Sindh.
