Internet Slowdowns Frustrate Users Across Pakistan

25

Internet users across Pakistan, including those in major cities, are facing significant slowdowns, with mobile data users being the most affected. People are unable to transfer or download WhatsApp voice messages, videos, or photos on mobile data. They can only send and receive text messages on WhatsApp and are unable to play videos or view images on platforms like Facebook. These issues have persisted for several days, leaving users frustrated and disturbed.

According to media reports, the government of Pakistan has accelerated the implementation of an internet firewall as part of a comprehensive regulatory framework to oversee over-the-top (OTT) services in the country. This development has raised concerns among the public, who are appealing for the restoration of normal internet services.
