Heavy Rains Expected in Karachi Starting Tomorrow

34

Light rain is expected today in Karachi, with heavy downpours likely in various districts of rural Sindh. The city may experience torrential rains starting tomorrow, with the rainy spell continuing intermittently until August 31.

The Meteorological Department has warned that strong winds accompanying the rain could lead to urban flooding in Karachi. Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into the open sea during this period.

The monsoon system over central India has intensified further, with the low-pressure area from yesterday escalating into a depression. The system has now developed into a deep depression and is gradually moving towards eastern Sindh, bringing with it the potential for heavy rains.
